A local’s guide: Where to eat…

Miller & Cook
Miller & Cook is a wee gem of a cafe that I would gladly travel distance to! So we are lucky to have it here smack bang in the middle of the High Street! Their Burritos are a particular favourite (partial to a Halloumi or BBQ Chicken one) but keep an eye out on their specials too! Also good tunes (up quite loud for any with sensory issues) Sit-in or takeaway . *Toilets are not wheelchair accessible and accessed by a steep set of stairs

Bangin' Pizza
The Times recognised Bangin’ as one of the top 50 pizzerias in the UK. Their motto ‘Inspired by Italy, Made in Scotland’ holds true - with imported Italian ingredients combined with local, seasonal Scottish produce on an airy sourdough base. Takeaway only.

The Abbotsford Hotel
Describing themselves as ‘probably the friendliest hotel in the World’, the Abbotsford is a family run company and I doubt you would meet a Dumbartonian who has not had a meal here. Bar food with a friendly welcome makes this an ideal stop for a family get together.

The Common Good Cafe
If you are looking for something quick (like a wee roll and tattie scone or soup and a buttered roll) then drop in to the Common Good Cafe. They not only serve up tasty food, they also operate as a training kitchen for young people in the local area to learn the essential skills required to work in a kitchen. All revenue is re-invested in their youth development programme. Good food doing good. All the wins. Outdoor seating & takeaway available.
